I heard years ago that Ford admitted that inner wing flex was a fault and carried out the repairs under warranty. My passengers side had split through when i bought the car. Only makes the issue worse by fitting wider wheels/tyres and uprated suspension. Strut brace is the way to eliminate it

FOOKING JESUS THAT WAS A NIGHTMARE!!!

car in air and still over 16mm out Managed to fit it but its under massive strain and i doubt the self tapers will hold Gonna porta power inner wings out and put some big dirty bolts through strut tops, hopefully that will cure it

Will there be a noticable change in driving with it sorted?? id say so but in what way.

right time to sort the cuts bruises and grazes of the day

Just my opinion for what its worth but i would have thought that the strut brace should be fitted with both wheels on the ground. reason being that when u jack the car up under the xmember, u are distributing the load through one point, a force that is never going to be replicated on the road & resulting in a certain (small) amount of flex to the inner guards. this could be the resultant 16mm difference u are experiencing. any other views?

mine went straight on and sits central to the strut tops

i tried offering it up with the car jacked up to see if it made any difference and it never moved

im with niall.b......fit it with wheels on the ground....like i did

personally i would fit one while the car is on the floor as it normally would be, if the struts move understand car weight there is something wrong in my opinion.

Force out on the road obviously will cause strut flex like harsh bumps and heavy braking.

All in my opinion, and im going to fit mine whilst on the deck.

Anyone want to do a group buy on the GGR\Philloy ones? i missed out on the last one and i want one badly

front inner wings flex like fuk
its a big problem even more on older cars
ryan if your car has been done proper then it should have double skined n welded 909 strenghtning panels on the inner wings and inner wing to a post

front
and forget the boy racer brace n fit one like this with 4 pick ups to the stut tops on each side

I have on that I bought from ML motorsport at Nat day 04 and have yet to fit it, I will soon, but when I put it on the strut tops, it looks like it's off and will be a pain in the arse to fit! LOL. I was also told to lift the car when fitting it. What to do...lol
