fao anyone with ecu knowledge
I could do with some help from you inteligent lot.
I need to know the specifics of my ecu (the kind of things you would need for writing a chip)
Hope one of you can help me as it meens i can potentialy get my car chipped for free

Sorry, I cant put all that knowledge in one post !!!!
Having said that, your ecu is an EEC4 and is notoriously hard to program even with the
right equipment.
You also need PROPER engine tuning knowledge.
Best buy a chip off the shelf, get it custom mapped by a pro or buy an aftermarket ecu
if you really want to DIY.
Will be cheaper to get someone else to do it for you that buy it yourself !!
Unless of course you want to DIY.
This is how I learned to do it.
A proper live mapping kit will cost around £1500 to £2000 complete
and then you will need inside knowledge of the ecu which you will NOT
buy for love or money !
An after market ecu will be around £500-£1000 depending on which one you choose and will
probally come with a base map to get you started.
A chip will cost £150 - £400 depending on who sells it.
