Just started a little winter tidy up project mk 2 fiesta with a silver top zetec running on bike carbs engine looks standard up to now has dyno print out for 148bhp, now when we brought the car it was suppose to have a 2.0 in it on removing the engine today turns out its a 1.8.

The engine looks to have had work lots of clean parts wont be sure if its been rebuilt until I pull the head off tomorrow, now what's the best combination of engine to use Ive heard the 1.8 is a better engine than the 2.0 but using a 2.0 head on the 1.8 bottom end is the best option, this advise did come from the banger boys round the corner so I take most of what they say with a large pinch of salt.

Any zetec boffins on who can put me straight.
