I'd buy a nice mk6 Transit for around £1400 then spend £500 on a full mk7 front end facelift.
You will get a nice looking van for £2000 that looks like a £6000 2010 model transit.
Take a look on ebay, type in TRANSIT MK7 front end.
Loads available, you'll get everything you need for £500 and you can go on TRANSIT FORUM for a step by step guide of the conversion.
To be honest £2000 ain't a lot.Need to make the most of it.

don't buy a vivaro, trafic or nissan primastar, there all the same van with different badges (renault trafic).
they all suffer with terrible engine wiring faults, the gearboxs are made by cadburys, the front suspension ball joints and track rod ends fail quite regularly.

Looks like the transit is winning, my Mrs drives a lot of different vans through work and hates the Nissan prima star, and loves the tranny, whereas I drive through work the transit and the movano, I like the transit to drive and be in, although the clutches seem to be on/off, yet the Vauxhall takes a lot more grief.
