If thay do make the film i hope there is a mk3 capri at some point. As to me if there's no capri its not the professionals.

Call me defeatist, but can't see it being any good!? It'll never be the same as the originals. Guess the modern equivalent for cars would be a Focus RS

Hopefully they choose the cars wisely, and dont have them driving round in hybrids.

I thought the Sweeney was a really good film! It's overall budget was tiny. Ł3 million which is peanuts in movie terms. I reckon a Professionals film could be really good, assuming they don't do a Starsky and Hutch type send up. All the best Professionals episodes were the edgy cold war ones.

The Professionals is one of my all time favourite series'. A modern film will never be the same. I love the way it is of its period and love the nostalgia.

Could still be a good film though given the fact I do really like the two leads.

just shows you todays film makers have very little fresh ideas and simply remaking classics shows the state of the industry, when the original proffesionals was shot I watched the filming when they was in wembley conference centre and around the chalkhill area, good old days

Would be nice if they kept it cannon. maybe have Martin Shaw in it as a retired Doyle still driving the Capri from the original series. I'd like to see that. I wasn't too fond of the Sweeney film. I sat there thinking "The original lads were thrashing about in big engined Granadas, reduced to driving a Focus".

If they have CI5 driving about in a bloody focus I think I'll cry

Yeah gritty as fook and filmed in some old buildings that have now long gone and more than likely a shopping centre. Or out in moody locations.

The only modern fords they could use would be a new mustang to replace the Capri, focus st to replace the Rs2000 and a mondeo mk5 to replace the Granada

A new Focus ST would utterly wipe the floor with a 2.8 Granada on straights, bends, while parked, etc etc blah blah. Old Granadas were pretty fucking terrible truth be told.

It's the image of the car that's important. The Granadas were good because they have quite a masculine image & suit the show & the characters well. the Focus doesn't do it for me. Also, sins of all sins, they didn't use the proper Sweeney theme. Not even a modern take on it
