Lion batteries?????
Anybody ever used this brand of car batteries? Are they any good? Just fitted the one in the link below to my car as my old Unipart one was getting temperamental a let me down a couple of times in the last few days. Got a 3 year warranty on it, the capacity seems reasonable and the price was very attractive (supposedly 50% off but it's easy to inflate the starting price so that it looks like you are offering a good discount).

they're poo, had a few that died within six months, then the pain of returning it to an independent. i'm not saying they're all bad, but my brother in law did a project on car batteries in his motorsport degree (no idea why), found that Lion batteries performed worst and didn't take to heavy discharge well at all, he told me this as i'd fitted the second lion battery as i thought it was a one off
got to love a Bosch or other well made brand IMO

If I buy a battery I always usually buy Bosch as I can get them cheaply from my supplier and they've always been good, but if for any reason I need one immediately and they have no stock of Bosch, out of the alternatives they have I always go for Lion as they've always been perfect too, so yeah no issue with Lion.

If they are "supposedly" so shit how can they offer a 3 year warranty? Surely the majority would have failed within that timescale and would have to be replaced F.O.C. which would cost the company a fortune.

hence the origional sale price....
its all covered in the origional sale.
i guess i only get to see them when they fuck up and take them off and fit Bosch ones.
we had a litle used Z3 in, 3 new batteries in 6 month, was referred to us by the motor factors to prove it had a parasitic drain,
left on an oscilloscope from friday to monday, it had 0.03mA drain but sucked the battery dead over 3 days,
this was the 3rd one dont forget (between customer charging them every other week)
no parasitic draw present.
fitted an S4 006 and car hasnt been back since may 23rd (i know this as it was my birthday weekend and the car was left in my bay hooked upto the laptop!)

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
I had one in my Sierra which sat for three years without me turning the key. Last winter i got it back home, opened the door and the interior light came on and the clock was still at the right time!
I took it out, discharged it, charged it again and put it in my Escort and it's been fine ever since. Can't complain at all.
