what master cylinder for rear disc conversion? pls help me..
i bought my self a escos copy and it has grooved and drilled disc's allround . the prob is the model is a 1.8 lx which should have drums on the back. i thought the brakes felt sh*t so i took it to a local garage on the way home tonite and let them drive it. the bloke said the rear brakes didnt feel like they were really working and explained that ont the brakiing system there are 'resistors' that dont let as much force to the rear as the front. this bit made sense cos now its got big calipers on it a discs it must be struggling to stop them . i can understanfd this. he said you need a master cylinder that is for disc all round . so i said a rs 2000 is a disc allround model. i thought this was the answer. then the bloke said only prob is the rs 2000 is a abs model (not sure on this ) and mine isnt so it wont work . does anyone know what i can do cos the brakes look brillant and the rears add to the illusion that its real so i dont want to take them off but i need the car to stop.................
surely some one has fitted rear discs to a non abs model escort before........ if so what did they do ..... he said get a ford cd and see what they sais. i said no need i will get on pasionford cos they are a bloody clever lot and always seem to know the answer.........
so please can anyone help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look to the right of the master cylinder you will see 2 cylinders on a bracket, remove these and connect the lines directly to the master cylinder then buy an adjustable bias valve and adjust the brakes so the rears are slightly less powered than the fronts

Gte one from most motorsport places, deemon tweeks, burton power and it fits on the lines that goto the rear brakes, if you have to ask where it goes id take it to a garage to be fitted and set up on the brake machine as it could end in disaster
