Ford fair warnings
Hi all ,
I've posted this on my local rs forum but thought it would help here too .
Over past years at shows with all the excitement and wanting to get round the show I've seen windows left open and even cars unlocked !!
People with bonnets up have had chrome parts taken and series 1 towing covers gone missing and saff jacking covers
Please be careful as you don't want to spoil the day with lost parts

There's some nasty people out there
I parked in main outside car park at ford fair after going to USC at Santa pod and came back to my car ( daily runner thankfully ) and a car 5or6 down and someone's window had been smashed and stuff gone and owner was going f##king mad at a security bloke !!
Also at rs day someone over the speakers said someone's chrome had been stolen and warning others .
Lots of stuff goes on but never hear that much about it so thought I do a reminder

It's a shame but some people are just beyond help. I used to run a really popular car club based in the South, and on more than one occasion had to ask "certain" people to leave as I knew they had either stolen cars or property from cars.
Sadly I don't tend to forgive or forget, but at a massive meeting like Ford Fair it must be a real nightmare. The cars on show are peoples pride and joy, they are on show for the rest of the community to enjoy, to see the work put into them and to inspire honest people to work harder and try to replicate what they see on ones own cars.

My pal had his mk2 frs keyed and bits nicked at nat day 2years back, common sense should be used on stands, we have never had any issues like this on our stands thank god, besides if any of us caught any toe rag there would be nothing left for the police

Bang out of order things like that are! At the end of the day we are all into our cars and enjoy showing them and looking at other peoples. Total scum people who pray on that and steal bits from them

lets face it this goes on at any car event be them ford or other, just use common sense and there will be no issues as for me santa pod/donington have worst reps for this sort of thing hence why you should always be a part of a club, safety in numbers and all that as we watch each others backs especially on stands

There were pics a few years back of some poor sods Subaru after being literally stripped bare in the car park at a show.
I really don't know what's wrong with some people.

This is the dilemma that I am facing tomorrow. Want to go in my car but don't particularly want to leave it in the public car park for scum to nick parts of it so might convince the Mrs to drive in her Fiesta - will just wait and see how brave I'm feeling in the morning.

what a poor state of affairs when people are scared to take their cars to shows.
maybe you should get a bmw. you meet a better class of person at a bmw show and you never worry about bits and pieces going missing.

And look at when that drift car was stolen off of a stand.
Can't remember where but every time some one seen it they filmed and posted on Facebook and forums. Got found in the process of being stripped.

I went to Silverstone classics cat show. My mate had his alpina on the bmw stand. I walked into the bmw gazibo which had pictures of bmws hanging up. A bloke with a bmw shirt came over and asked if I liked bms. I said not really. I own a saff cossie. He turned round and walked away from me.

yet if you or I park your beat up car outside a rich persons mansion, im sure the police will turn up soon enough and search you because of your suspicious behaviour.
Which is why i firmly believe criminals who wont rehabilitate need beating into submission, life imprisonment or extermination, on the grounds of public protection.
Even for so called "petty" crime like car crime.

Nah, think I'll give that a miss and I wouldn't say sales reps are a better class of person. Maybe years ago when a BMW had a bit of status but nowadays they're not so special.

there must have been a load of ford enthusiasts there that day....no I don't honestly believe that. I was joking. trusting anyone at any car show just because they like the same car as you is forest gump levels of naivety .

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Nothing new at shows, especially dumps like donnington (great track) shite venue.
Cars stolen, parts stolen, cars scratched, it's just an excellent opportunity for scum.
Not bothered with the shows nowadays but would go again just not with my car.

The first Ford Fair at Silverstone was a memorable one for us.
My brothers 24v Granada had the drivers door pulled/bent out from the top in an attempt to break in. This was in the car park.
It was a low value car, but just showed up the shower of bastards that will attend.

The truth is his M3 has been moosed by a saff taxi even my Cortina made more power than a M3 evo

Well the dilemma was solved - my fookah wouldn't start due to a flat battery so we went in the other halfs Fezza. Thought she was going to give some dozey tart a slap when she opened the door of the Audi that she was a passenger in on to the door of the Fiesta. Audi tart stormed off and told her other half to "fucking take me home Andy, I said I didn't want to come here". Oh dear, hope us Ford commoners didn't spoil your day and you enjoyed your drive home.

doesn't rod use the stands as his private car park for his Mercedes?
