I've bought myself an Orion!

I've loved these cars for ages, really understated.
and for a while I had the fastest ford ever built! The Ghia Si! but it was stolen when I was at Uni after 9 days of owning it. It got smashed about, written off, and now resembles a cube.

But ANYWAY new red one! 44000 miles on the clock, 1.8 LX I



I've done a few mods already, got a custom escort GTI exhaust to free up a few horses, and a K&N panel filter + cold air feed into the box.

THE BIG PROBLEM

I bought some Escort GTI half leather seats off a mate of mine in Birmingham.

They didn't fit

because my seats look like this:



And they looked like this:



So a friend told me "OH just get the Fiesta Mk3.5 subframes, they will fit then, get the top hats too"

So I did... they came today...

and didn't fit:



THE BIG QUESTION

What seats WILL fit my Orion!?



The blue ones that I have are okay but you roll around everywhere! I want something Recaro'ish but I've no idea what will fit!

Can anyone help? has someone had similar trouble?

lookin at your shell its a mk5 not a mk5/b

 

Can you not unbolt your subframes and put them on the Gti seats?

Mk3 and Mk4 Orions have slightly different floor pans which is why there not fitting...

 

yeah I tried that the day I bought them. The GTI seats mount to their subframes vertically, where my subframs mounted horizontally.

I know enough fabricators to make me a few brackets up, but I would rather have something that was meant to fit in the first place.

So ive thrown them up on eBay (Spazloy) if anyone wants them.

I think I will look for some RS2000 seats (as its going to have an RS2000 bonnet on it in the next few weeks)

or some MK5 wingbacks.

 

If your going RS2000 stuff I'm pretty sure the rears go in too...
