03 Focus missfire 1 and 4
Hey not the fastest thing in the world but a good hack ...
2003 1.6 petrol , went round a corner and then it started miss firing
Dragged it back and its firing on 2 & 3 but not 1 and 4 , tried a coil pack and crank sensor but nothing ....
Tried all the fuses there all ok so its not switching on 1 and 4
Anyone came across this before ?

stop throwing bits at the car and diagnose it propperly!!
coilpack witing has 3 wires, centre is feed/gnd
both outers are pulsed signal/triggers
1/4 2/3
while cranking using a test light, see if signal is pulsing on both outer terminals with connector unplugged.
you should get the same result on both outer connectors.
if not then do continuity check on the wiring to PCM, if thats ok then check the pulses at ECU by back probing.
you will find the ECU drivers have failed due to leaving a missfiring coilpack on too long and its fucked it.
