Default Brakes

Hi all I have just reconditioned my front standard 3 door calipers and have fitted new Discs and Pads.
What would you say is the correct way to break them in?

Thanks for your help.

Tim.

Dont brake hard and make sure you dont keep your foot on the pedal when you are stopped as this can cause warpping on the discs when theyve got hot pads on them

I have heard that you should not come to a stop and that it is important to get discs and pad up to temp without burning an impression on the discs! (ie- stopping without cooling) once a rotor(Disc) is bedded it should have a blue hue?
Is this correct?

Cheers. Tim.

the discs and pads to some extent have to go through a heat/cool cycle so that they don't warp as one part gets hotter than the other and then cools down again rapidly by driving through a puddle

it also stops the pads getting glazed as they can't remove all the heat from the frictional losses they are trying to dissipate

think of it as toast, warming it up nicely means it'll be even all over, but sticking a blow torch on one section will just burn it to a crisp

Hahaha Dojj love the toast example.

I always used to just take it easy for the first 100 miles, only thing I hate baout brakes is when the car gets parked up for a bit and the surface rust settles in . Ruins the look.
