im moving garages soon, and ive got loads of parts from an rs2000 4x4 and an escort gti to store, i need to save as much space as possible as im going to be starting a full restoration on a mk5b shortly and once thats stripped il have a hell of a time finding the room for it all!
at the moment ive got all of the bits (mostly interior) seperated from eachother in those ton sand bags but not sure if this is the best way to do it or not? ive also just bought a mk5b donor which cheered the wife right up lol, so there will be more parts to set aside!

hang some 2x2 frames from the roof of the garage, like a U shape design and then store the large parts in there, out of the way and cheap as chips.
search google for garage shelving and look at some pics for cheap solutions.
plastic tubs could be very expensive in the end.

Agree with you on that, I would wrap the parts in bubble wrap first before storing them. Most garages are not insulated on the inside and especially in Winter suffer from condensation. I put a waterproof outside car cover on my Sapphire all Winter inside my garage.

Get some cheap racking (assume you'll be using one of your garages to store stuff in, or have I read it wrong ?!)
If you are using one, used steel racking is peanuts to buy and will take the weight of car bits without too much trouble. Wrap up stuff that you don't want getting damp and it'll be easy to store and find when you want it.

well i wanted to keep all the parts with the car in my man cave at home where il be doing all the work but i cant see that happening, ive got seven! sets of wheels lol, im shifting all of my work gear to the new lock ups now, i think i may have space in one of the two garages im keepimg for myself so i will probably have to store most of it up there for now, apart from the seats and things i dont want getting mouldy
