i did the smooth boot my self is it the same princeable just slap filler in and sand

It looks ok I guess not my cup of tea imo it should be left to the vw boys lol the plate needs to be shaped to the bumper to look good. Surely if you do smooth it it could crack??

I guess it depends on how it was done, on my mk4 it had been plastic welded

Does look good but as soon as you put the numberplate on it just ruins it.

More to it than slapping filler in a hole, with the quantity that you would need it would fall out when you hit a bump.

I can remember when smoothing the boot on cars was cool. Then a few months later the filler would start to crack or sink lol.

The number plate ruins it in my opinion. Years ago you could put stick on vinyl number plates on which would look fine as it can be positioned centrally. I am not sure now if they are still legal?
