....anyone had any experience of these, good or bad??
One of my friends is getting rid of his 1.6 petrol MK2.5 Focus, because its shit slow and terrible on fuel. He's been offered a new focus with this 1.0 turbo engine, but I said I'd check what like they are to drive, on fuel, reliability, etc before he bites the bullet.
Cheers,
Grant

I've only driven one in a B-Max, they go pretty well, feel like the equivalent 1400/1600 n/a petrol engine.
No idea what the economy is like on them though.

I bought a new Focus 1.0 ecoboost 6 odd mths back
Unless you knew otherwise you would say its a 1.8
Deffo goes well for what it is, but mpg isn't that great imo
Around town its only about 28 mpg atm
Only fault so far was the sat nav which turned out to be the aerial
Good car else

He says he's getting c30mpg from the 1.6 and neither he/his fiancé are fast drivers... basic commute too, no real long journeys or proper heavy traffic.
Thanks for the opinions so far, he's looking to get upper 30s average from the new car which I wasn't sure was possible from such a small engine, in such a large car.
Cheers,
Grant

It has more power is greener and has better economy than the 1600, the latter is pretty gutless low down!
In actual fact its as powerful, as near as makes no difference as the original 2L!
I would like to hear what one is like after it has covered a reasonable mileage though.
It's also going to be available in the Mondeo (may be already) albeit producing more power.
