Always take all my keys upstairs with me. There was a gang round this way doing break ins for car keys a few years back, still happens every now and again.

There was a spate of this round my way last year. Two of Rachels neighbours were broken into and a Mini Cooper S was taken from one house and they were caught by a lad who was getting up early to go to work. He chased them out of the house with a bat but the jumped in the pinched Mini and fooked off The house that lost the Mini nearly lost a people carrier as well but they bailed and just threw the key on the road once disturbed.

my keys are kept in my trouser pockets, which i dont bother to take off, even when asleep...

so if they want a free car, they have to take a blind lucky dip under the sheets...

My boss live's in north london, someone broke into his house, nicked the key 's and ran off in the motor

ye we had same spate of stuff around here last year. they used fishing rods to put through the letter box and hooked keys of like tables in the hall way

Mate of mine had this happen a couple of years ago, he worked nights at the time and it was done in broad daylight while he was in bed, they broke in, nicked his car keys, loaded the car up with his telly, dvd player and everything else they fancied and fooked off.

I had me car broken in to last night, thing is it is a primer yellow mk1 fiesta with no interior bar one chair, no stereo, no dash and lots of rubbish......They smashed the lil quater window, opened the door and left it like that....KNOBS!!!!

Totally agree - if someone breaks in, and holds you at gunpoint just for the sake of your car, they can have it - they'd have to get past the dog first though

I never leave my keys in the same place twice, I'm lucky if I can find them !

the scumbags who were nicking motors around north london came up my road in a motor and had a good look at my cars,i was looking out the wuindow at them ,and they had the cheek to wave at me! i didnt know at the time but since found out they were the ones that smashed the doors in and held the owners at gunpoint for their keys,lucky escape,they all got caught soon after.

same here, a mate was sat watching TV with his daughter when to nob jockeys broke in and held a tyre wrench over his daughter head and said "hand over the keys"

so why take the keys to bed and let them wake you and threaten to kill you? because you will gives them the keys or be seriously injured!

you may aswell just leave them downstairs and let them take it.
