officaly they are supposed to be taken back to the office, i find a lot of people perfer the postperson to leave stuff with neighbours garage ect but they should put a note for ya, some people would rather pick them up as they dont get on with there neighbours ect, if your not happy just call your local office and speak with the manager and he will tell the postperson not to leave parcels with neighbours ect also for the peeps who are moaning a bit about your mail coming late there is no specific time for getting mail to you along as it gets there in the correct dates ie first class next day ect, you can collect your mail from the office now (new regulations in place) just ring up or go see one of the managers they will sort it, its always worth chatting to your postman about parcels ect things can normaly be sorted this way, hope some of this useless info helps

The problem is we have had our hours changed, and we also work 5 days a week now and not 6, to compensate management have made rounds bigger, which inturn free's up the extra staff to cover days off (cuz quite often 3 rounds will have been amalgamated into 2 or 4 into 3 etc) and not only that but there is now only one delivery per day, whereas there used to be (in some areas) a second delivery...
I work in a sub office, and I finish officially at 2.30, but I can finish anywhere between 11am and 4pm depending on the volume of mail...
With regards to the parcels being left, like the other guy said have a word with your posty, he/she probably thinks there doing you a favour, but if your not happy they'll take it back to the office, I work in a village and it's about 5 miles from the office so i tend to leave as much as i can in the village, in sheds/greenhouses, neighbours etc, but if someone asks then i take it back it aint a problem.
