Freddy,it will be summer down there if you go in december mate.I did a nov-march tour and we had a bbq on crimbo day.The average wind speed for the year is 40 mph though mate and theres a hole in the ozone layer so you will burn quite sharpish.I would get used to boozin and lookin at penguins coz there is absolutely fook all else to do unless you go down the gym letchin at the odd nice waafy.

ahh the falklands is awesome u will have so much fun!! my dad was out there and i went down, went in a tornado, went quad biking over the battlegrounds, riding, on boat trips... loads to see the porpoises and the penguins etc... its brilliant. we went in a helicopter to this remote island and then my dads friends came and did a private fly over for me and my sis in the tornadoes 
you will love it, i can post some pics of there if u like...
bar isnt bad too, i remember it being quite fun!

The penguins are cool though.They come right up to you and look you up and down.They arent scared as theyve never seen people before.One tried to eat the dayglo strap on my haversack.What do you do btw?Not a sprayer/painter are ya?

However, gotta admit mate one of the things that made me consider the armed forces and that was getting to travel. So your in there, fook it, part of the job innit.
.
But next time try for bloody cyprus and not the freeze ya bolloks off Falklands At least then vix can see ya AND get a decent holiday out of it

I went there with the RAF in 1993 Sep til Jan. It was their summer so not to bad although I think we had at least some snow every month
You can save a fortune if you need to as there's only the bar and phone cards to spend money on. Or you can spend 4 months down the gym getting fit and ave even more
The RAF tour was/is 123 days and everyone lets you know it from the minute you arrive
It's about an 8 hour flight to Ascenssion, hour or so for refuelling and then another 8 hours to the Falklands
Have fun
