yes was great till the old bill put cameras on the buildings and did over 300 of us for dangerous driving, even made the national news, the unlucky ones got dealt with early in magistrates court and sent down, me and my mate and about 20 others were deemed to be the worst offenders and sent to crown court, it took 2 years to prosecute us and because of the length of time it took only banned us for 12 months.
I was banged to rights due to the video showing me losing my xr2 doing a 360 spin, somehow missing everything and ending up in a sideroad
I and the others were even banned from entering birmingham from 6.30 at night on the friday till early monday morning for the two years of the case and we hadnt even been convicted.
My legal bills were horrendoes

Never a more truthful word spoken ... Used to love going up the Esses on a saturday night after work , My old head chef introduced me to it, asked me to come up one night, so me and a mate bimbled up in my uno turbo, came round the bottom HSBC corner to be greeted with a fucking SEA of people, like you used to see in the 80's rally videos , in the road diving out the way as you came around the "track" ended up spending most saturday nights there, saw some properly stupid driving and some mental crashes, mad thing is no one ever got hurt badly that I remeber....

Anyone remeber the red celica GT4 that went backwards onto the HSBC steps, or the FTO that parked on a bollard and had the front wheels off the floor spinning up trying to reverse off?

Ahhh, happy days, as said, the atmosphere used to be awsome up there, until fucking dickheads started to rag stolen cars around then burn them , thats what really killed it off IMHO

there no good street racing round here, they all fagots or own shit cars, might have to take a look.

there's nothing that special that goes there stav,
my cav was the fastest thing there most nights
at a lardy 1340kg with 365bhp so only 276bhp/ton
some evo's came but none tuned unfortunately
and the subarus' that i've seen there well

my cars not that quick at mo anyhow, only 380bhp or so and over 1450kg.

and besides, just because they not that fast doesnt matter, its like anything, its how fast they THINK they are is what makes it fun, so ripping on standard scoobies and evos all day long in a wierd 4door thing is fun, lol.

aaron in his black golf is quick too can't remember his reg
but he has toyo 888's on the front and a cage?
i got a section 59 a few weeks back (didn't see the unmarked cop car)
but the copper said my god cavaliers arn't meant to be that fast,
stripping it out really made the difference i think as the power wasn't massive

I disagree i reckon brum or the west midlands has one of the best reps for the s.... racing best thing about it is there all sorts of cars so whatever you in they'll be someone in your leauge.

And tuned up wise matey you gotta see the EVO's that come up most of them are 400bhp minimum and that Grey KEV no.plate one is like 550bhp

TBH with i think the cossies have had it, well i havent been in a genuine 350+ one but theres none out here that come and when u see/sit in an EVO u just think wtf

Just be careful though quite a bit of unmarked cars inc. a scooby now we've got most of them in the back of our heads

Only thing is EVO's and Scoobies are ruling around here no Fords or Cossies really out there and most them EVO's look fantastic nice subtle looks with good power

Reading this post brings back great memorys of the s bends, happy days. It taught me how to drive sideways in my magenta cos. That range rover was a rocket.

It was brilliant - I used to take my Mini Clubman up there - 1400cc and I raced every thing and there was no snobbery at all from any one

The police used to let it go on most weekends also as they knew it'd keep most of us out there hair tbh it was the press that got S-bends stopped more than the police

Ive been to Hamms Hall once and its crap, not racing just mostly over enthusiastic young lads who think they can drive (but CANT) and have no respect for each other or anything in the close vicinity

Last time I went a metro got hit by something and a drunken tramp tried to set it on fire through the petrol cap

I doubt ill ever see a street event again like the S-Bends was.

Usaed to love going up the cage after a blast at the esses anyone remember rs killer and storm in their rst,s with the graphics up then sides, they were the bollox back then.
Was anyone there when the mg maestro ploughed into the back of the riot van, so funny watching dazed coppers getting out of the back, but it did start to get silly towards the end!!
