Default Replacement engine suggestions

Right the car is a BMW E93 its a car my mum has had for 4 years.Atm its a 320 Msport Highline.Nice car but shite slow.

As it goes my mum is never going to buy another car after this and on agreement it is going to be mine.

First greedy thoughts was M5 power

of course I would love to make it YB powered but sensibly I want it quicker than spending 10k on a car twice as heavy than a Sapphire .

I dont care about suggestions,it could be chicken powered if you can back up the figures

Jap ? ?

Car in question

335i twin turbo? I hear you can get decent power from them.
Probs one of the cheapest options

Whats that then ? 335i tt ?
At this point it aint going to to be the cheapest option.

Its going to be more how can I get this shifted along the road quickly with a bit of a kick tbh.

I dont want Diesel power.

If its being converted its going have to be something quite quick

You should sell it, and buy a 335i. Cheaper and easier in the long run.

Only a mentally deranged person would start swapping engines on a new BMW.

yep. I would agree with Rab tbh, like anything else, budget comes to mind. When I said being one of the cheapest options, I meant it as being engines and ancillaries that is know to fit in these cars as well as good performance. Certainly FAR cheaper than trying to get a jap engine to fit and run. and a very quick look on autotrader would suggest an 11k+ value on the current car, with 335i convertibles available from 11k upwards, couple of years older of course, but less hassle in the long run. By time you have got all the bits for an engine swap and labour, possible insurance differences, then I reckon its a no brainer to sell that and buy something that ticks the boxes you are after

OK it was 22k when the car was bought.

When its mine if I can keep it in the condition its in .Idont care if it owes me me 3 times that amount tbh.

I asked for engine swaps advice.

My question was lets make it faster .
Mahoosive turbo and melt .
No I want a good conversion. The car is not going anywhere.

PLS dont say as I am ruining something .

Its probably going to be be in my possession for the rest of MY days.

Shes owned mr2's and all sorts. This one I want to keep.

with the greatest respect, between yourself and your friends who have been in business for 30 odd years, I thought between you lot you would have a vague idea of what would be the easiest/ most cost effective conversion to do, as well as alternative non bmw options that would possibly fit. After I had mentioned the 335i twin turbo, your next post came across to me as if you were not sure ,

"Whats that then ? 335i tt ?

dont take offence, i am only making an observation
