Alternator Problem ?

Default Alternator Problem ?

Having a bit of a strange problem
Alternator charges fine when cold roughly 14.4v then once engine gets warm it stops charging and the engine dies ??
Anyone got any ideas on this before i go i shell out on a new one

What car is it. It does sound like it could be an alternator at fault.

What voltage does it read once the engine is warm.

Its A capri with a zetec turbo on omex
drops to 12.2v when once hits about 75/80 degrees

Is that 12v straight out the back of the alternator or at the battery. If its back of alternator I would of said its foooook.
