Jag x type phone help
Hi lads I got hold of a very nice v6 2.5 awd 51 plate tonight and I'm over the moon with it but just one thing I would like to no wot do I need to do to get car phone to work all it's got is the standerd radio witch has phone buttons on it . It's not important that it works but it would be nice to try to get it working

u need a Bluetooth recicever fitted to the back of the stereo and when the first person bought the car from jag they wood of had to pay to get it fitted

A 51 plate X type would have had a wide band handset fitted in the centre console if it had been spec'd with one when built. All X types, S types and XJ's had phone buttons fitted even if no phone was optioned in! Jaguar Bluetooth is guff anyway what with compatibility issues so probably wouldn't be worth the hassle of trying to modify it to accept it. All Jaguars after late 2005 had to be pre wired at the factory for it to then become a dealer fit option.
If the car happens to have a phone in the centre console then to try and get it working you would need a contract SIM card as pay as go ones tend not to work in them!
Other than that, you'd probably be best with a parrot Bluetooth system as it tends to work with all phones unlike the Jaguar system!
