Default After 230k happy miles.......

Ive finally changed the last factory fitted shocker lol

I got my Peugeot hackney taxi almost new and have had a very slight knocking noise for last couple of weeks ive been trying to get to bottom off, changed shocker and top mount today and shocker was fooked lol, top mount was still perfect tho!

No more noise!, who says Peugeot are no good!??!

The Bippers and Partners are crap compared to the Combo's, but the Fiat Doblo is even worse

The combos arnt the best either. We have changed loads of engines at work. The gear boxes are made of chocolate too. The trannys and connects are a bloody good van its just a shame they rust.

I knew it wouldnt be a 1.4. I changed a few valves on one engine because the 2 cams are timed buy a timing chain and they also have a cam belt. There was a recall out cause the gear on the cams used to come loose move and damage the valves. In the 6 years I worked for fiat I only ever did one.

They were a cracking engine.

I always thought they used the PSA DW10 2.0 8v 90hp Diesel engine?
The 1.9TD is a PSA XUD9TE lump and they have a Bosch VE pump so can be run on 100% cooking oil.
Think you can get the N/A 1.9D too which is an XUD9.

All the hackney spec vehicles of this age were the 110bhp 16v engines, the boys have the 8v engines fitted when they give up because there cheaper!!

Depolution by any chance

Had a 56 207GT @ 11 mnths old.It went back to the dealers with no power 3 times. They had it for a total of 6 weeks, had three software uploads from France and then sent it off too Coventry because they couldnt fix it.
Fuel pump apparently, flat as shite like no turbo.Chocolate alloys that got flat spots in them very easily, tps that the valves just snap off @Ł40 a pop, noisy horrible thing.Oh and lost 8k in nearly three years after only covering 22,000mls and full history.Never , never again.

I wish as I had gone onto peugeot central website before hand

The OP has a beaut compared to the rest of the shite

It's been back twice for the satnav unit freezing up and staying on like a Christmas tree after switching off. And it's got this habbit on occasions under light throttle of just juddering and losing all power.

This will be the last Peugeot that's for sure, will be doing my upmost to get her into something German when she changes it next.

Only reason I know all the engine codes is because I've owned and tuned a few!
It's like people who know the different block numbers when it comes to YBs and what cam cover colour means what.
