Default oil question

Hey folks.

Opened up my bonnet today for my weekly check over everything and noticed my oil cap had come off...
It's become really loose and I reckon engine vibration has caused it to simply fall off.
I checked the cap and there wasn't any mayo which is good however when i checked the dipstick there was a fair bit of it all up the stick It's not loosing coolent I know that as I put some new stuff in it last month and it's all still there and Plenty of oil so would having no Oil cap for a 22 mile journey cause all this mayo? Obv going to do an oil change but before I do is there anything I should consider?

Thanks for any help.

If the cap was off for any time you would have lost a lot of oil and everything would be a mess.

Short journeys can cause what you are seeing.

Cheers! I'd say it does do short journeys on the weekdays but at weekends if its nice I'll normally take it out for a thrash.
