I've seen a few aspirated vaxhuall combo vans the 1.7 DI's on 04 plates not sure if these were the last vehicles to have the old mechanical N/A derv engines. I have a thing for old diesel engines i've been almost through all the newer common rail derv range - JTD's, D4D's, TDCI's, HDI's but i can honestly say i miss the old indirect injection lumps what used to be in the old mondeo's and escorts which sounded awful and never used to start when cold - Completely dead under 2,250 rpm but you were away after 2,250 rpm. And those old engines seemed to rev a bit higher almost up to 5,000 rpm with out significantly loosing torque through the 4,000-5,000rpm range like the newer diesel do.
