I've seen a few aspirated vaxhuall combo vans the 1.7 DI's on 04 plates not sure if these were the last vehicles to have the old mechanical N/A derv engines. I have a thing for old diesel engines i've been almost through all the newer common rail derv range - JTD's, D4D's, TDCI's, HDI's but i can honestly say i miss the old indirect injection lumps what used to be in the old mondeo's and escorts which sounded awful and never used to start when cold - Completely dead under 2,250 rpm but you were away after 2,250 rpm. And those old engines seemed to rev a bit higher almost up to 5,000 rpm with out significantly loosing torque through the 4,000-5,000rpm range like the newer diesel do.

How about the C15 vans? They were still being made after the 1.7di combos went over to the 1.3cdti engine.

The Berlingo 1.9's had the same engine as the C15's and they didn't go out of production until about 6 years ago.
