Been a lurker for a few months and have recently purchased another RS off one of the members, So decided to get membership sorted and im now here to stay
Great forum/site with plenty of info for like minded people and if you need something for the car your pretty much sorted to get it here

Great site, love the ammount of people I have met thru here and the wealth of great knowledge available (and not just cars - knowledge on PC's, plumbing - TIff 
etc)
BUt if you want a no bullshit response?
I think it is beginning to go down a similar route to the RSBB - yes yes I hear the gasps from the dear readers, but it's my opinion.
In as far as some of the desicions and directions it has been taken, the attitude of a lot of people is changing, it is becoming a lot more bitchy with rows always kicking off left right and centre..
ALso I predicted that a "them and us" situation would develop if a two tire member status was brought - I was told it wouldn't but it clearly has.
Other silly things - a "lower class" member can post a thread about his bits for sale, but then can't reply to it or reply to any other for sale threads - now thats just stupid, and if I was a paying trader I would be pissed off that I pay to advertise and someone who doesn't pay is advertising free, and also from the view that I pay to advertise but probably over half my target audience can't actually reply to me about the stuff I have paid to advertise.....
Other situations like a member on here who has broke ONE car he bought was reported by a trader who asked for his thread to be taken down - get a fucking life knob - and how all the "how much is this worth" threads just being deleted and treated like for sale posts, so as not to piss off the paying members or whatever - I don't see any paid up members having these types of post deleted etc - and yes some of the posts are blatant ads, but some really are not, but that don't seem to matter anymore....
Over moderated? Um, no I don't really think so, maybe too many moderators all trying to make their mark (seen members who have been made mods suddenly have a rapid change in attitude and character opposite to their usual outlook - funny that) but it's not as over modded as a lot of sites, and generally you do get a level of free speech on here.
In Crowd? I think in a way it applies yes. Not wanting to use names I'll jsut use an example (no insinuations alledged) : If a post is made by someone affiliated with or about say, Reyland then everyone jumps on it quick as, as it seems they are one of the most respected (and rightly so) "groups" but it's coming from peeps who have never met any of em, but you know these peeps go to the pub Friday and say "yeah my mate Martin at Reyland has done this" or whatever when they never even met em (I ain't - met Porkie like twice in my life, seems likea nice guy, but I don't know him so hardly gonna go "oh yeah, that feature in xxxxxx mag - thats my mate Porkie - gets his cars done at my mate Martins garage" ) So yes I do think there is a level of "in crowed" but not as hard or tight as many other sites, so it don't really bother me.....
Simply tho it boils down to : this is my homepage, I still come here even tho I sold all my cars and don't really intend to get another RS or whatever, but I like most of the people and the mood on here - banter is always fun so I come back - if I didn't like it I wouldn't come back....

Matt - you appear to be out looking for a 2 tier site as you were the one who posted it would happen. If you go looking for it you will find it etc... To me it makes NO difference whatsoever who posts what, where, and when. If I have an answer, a bit of advice, need a bit of banter, or have a simple question to ask I will post it.

Nuts - what I was getting at with the two tier systems is how a lot of members (the ones who have paid) now look down on the non-paid members as if they don't matter or their views aren't warrented....

I have seen it happen on other BB's before, and it will continue to do so. I know PF needs to fund itself and understand this tho...
Lee - Only thing I meant by "all this shit" was not this post in particular, but the hassle of running and hosting and maintiaing a BB like this, especially with a lot of posts threads that appear to "diss" it and peeps moaning etc....

well i like the site and tbh this site converts people to drive other cars based on the site and the infomation and the way its run, a mate if mine from work was looking for a xr2, hes bought dalxr's and another mate with a 
nova has just got lucky and got a xr2 aswell and they both like the forum tbh, they are fresh to the forum so will see more than most prob will being new 
ao i dont think its all that bad here, i owe alot to peeps on here and i also get infomation about other things on here aswell

Will people please get over the "in-crowd" bollocks and understand this one simple fact as to why it appears like this to "outsiders" .
People that you perceive to be in the "in-crowd" actually socialise with other people in the "in-crowd" beyond the internet, as in we see each other face to face, not just interacting on the keyboard

This means we are actually proper friends and therefore carry that socialisation on this BB as you would expect proper friends to do so - i.e. helping each other out as much as possible. Obviously this could seem to be clicky if you didn't understand that, but the more events you attend, then the more chance you have of making friends and then becoming part of the Pf family
. Personally I am more likely to post a reply to someone I know than someone I don't (even if it is only that I have met them to put the name to the face) - so sue me .
