buying a shell with no i.d??

hi anyhelp with the following been offered a shell with no v5 tag or plates but does have chassis number, is it possible to get v5 etc from it or am i just asking for a headache??

Go to ford with the chassis number and you can the vin and number plate and you can easily get a new v5 from the dvla then.

Do a Hpi check with the chassis number and it should bring the reg up, then apply for a new logbook by getting a form from the post office and sending it to dvla.
