Default Accord type r no spark?

Buy a Honda they said, reliable Japanese engineering they said....

Had it 6ish months things been spot on , thirsty old beast but good car all the same , came back from offshore last Tuesday and the car had sat on the drive for 2 weeks and started on the button , drove over to my lock up to fuk about with the 3 door, sat for about an hour and wouldn't start , no spark , got called offshore again on Thursday and got back today so had a look, couldn't see anything obvious but absolutely no spark , apparently there bad for chewing threw distributors? Anyone ever owned one or worked at Honda? my brothers got a code reader he's bringing from his work tomorrow but thought I'd ask see if anyone's had this issue as when I posted pics when I got it some people did say they'd had one before , new dizzy is £200+vat but don't want to shell out for one till I've had the code reader on it

does the fuel pump work for approx 2 seconds when the key is turned to position 2 ?

if not, the main relay is probably at fault

Yeah fuel pump works fine plugs were soaking plus you can hear it buzz , aye had the dizzy apart and seen the cam sensor , not the cheapest of bits like Honda want £200+vat witch isn't too bad as all the cars cost me so far is fuel and tax , just gutted it stopped and refused to start !

all the honda range had a habit of eating their distributor and losing the spark
that was around 95-2000, dont know what age yours is or if they kept doing it after that on that model
but its defo top of the likely suspects

Guess you could take the cap off and see if the rotor arm is turning when you crank it?

You can use a paperclip to bridge a connector and it will flash up a cpl of leds which give u a fault code.
How to used to be on the uk atr site.

Try Lee at H&H ignition solutions, he may be able to point you in the right direction or even fix yours.

Yeah definetly the dizzy, got the code reader on it and all sensors are functioning properly , cranking voltage good, getting power to the dizzy but total dead no spark, got a single plug dizzy off eBay for £35 + £10 postage so if that works then good if not it's only £45 so least I'm not spending £550 on a brand new one

My brother tested the dizzy today and it's the ignition module in side the dizzy , got figures off some Honda site and tested the resistance across the coil and ignition module and everything was good apart from that so fingers crossed my eBay special dizzy works then it's getting punted in favour of an Audi or a v6 mondy

Yeah the igniter is the ignition module , mines is the simple version with just coil , ignition module and cam sensor , other later ones have another 4 cog wheel and 2 more sensors , pain in the arse man !

I think that sometimes the newer the car the more unreliable they get cause there are to many sensors and bloody pipes on them lol.

Yeah it got a rebuild box when I did the clutch caus it was crunching in 3rd and 5th , it's a year 2000 car so the early ones which had the weakish box, timing belts been along with water pump and the retro fitted tensioner mod , as I've said it was a cracking car and once all that had been done it's been super reliable and it's taken quite a beating , can kick the fuk out if it and it just asks for more , just quite thirsty
