Default mayo on the oil cap?

ok, the fiesta gets regular looking after by your truly because the mrs can't be trusted to put anything into it, even petrol

so at least once a week it get all it's fluids checked over and topped up where necessary

this week i've topped the oil up and there was a smattering of light mayo on the inside of the filler cap which has got me worried

on the other hand, most of the journeys are approx a mile and 5 minutes worth of use so it gets more regular oil changes than normal and i've heard that they don't like to run low on oil so i keep it topped up and this is the first time i've seen this mayo

the water level is fine, no need to top it up other than once in the summer

so does it just need a longer run or what?

Short runs can cause mayo, give it a proper run and go from there.

Could be a leaking head gasket, condensation,if your not losing water and the oil is fine might just be condensation if your not running it long enough or short trips.

it only seems to have started this week, which may be because it's got cold all of a sudden?

it's going to get a run into town later so that probably take the best part of 2-3 hours so i'll check again in the morning

I wouldn't worry too much, my Mrs' Peugeot did this and it was mega low miles but she always did short trips in it, so I'm sure it was just condensation. Time to worry is when it's on the dipstick or there's oil mixing with the water.

Engine flush it and do oil and filter change, more than likely its a build up in moisture due to short journeys and even a long run will only make the water settle on the underside of the rocker
