Check for loose wires at the back but it may be a duff deck. Those Eonon units seem a bit too cheap to me.

Sounds like it could possibly be an earth or current supply issue. If you turn it right up does it flicker or cut out?

no it doesnt strangely , i spoke to an electrician about this he rekons these head units have a small cap in them and when that runs out it cuts of rather than taking power directly from supply it takes it from this

deffo sounds like a HU issue. i take it this didnt happen before with your previous HU?
i would try to install an extra earth wire too, just to make sure it isnt an earthing issue.

You'd be surprised how much of a difference a proper earth makes to anything, especially where audio is concerned.

remove one of the kick panels linked to the centre console and find a nice grounding point as its all metal underneath and run the wire up to the HU. you'll find it easier to drop the wire down and then attach it. i use 3 long cables ties taped together and tape wires to this to run it down into gaps.

are the plus 12v feeds reversed, two feeds are 12v switched high current for power and 12v low current switched for mem etc...

long shot but swapping wont do any harm bar losing station presets, worth trying ...

while the stereos out you could connect up a volt meter and try and recreate the turn off conditions to see if its power @12v is dipping???

Friend of mine had an eonon sat nav unit in his transit that would do the exact same thing. Would also get very hot around the back of the unit where the heat sink is, almost too hot to touch. He junked it and put a pioneer unit in, had no problems after that!

if you can afford to get it wrapped then sell the eonon hu and get a decent one in! stops faffing around. mind you, i installed a pioner hu into my focus and it was a pita to get the cage to sit properly due to all the plastics behind the fascia.
