Default turbocharging st 170

hi guys turbo charging st 170 motor.10 psi boost will i need decom plate ?thanks allan

The compression will need to be lowered but I wouldn't advise a decomp plate.

Fit some proper turbo pistons mate will save you in the long run.

if your planning on running it on standalone management you should get away with 10 psi but as said be better with blacktop head as easier to map

I'd also recommend doing this, engine is then good for 350bhp with the correct turbo etc.

So, let me get this right... buy an ST170, swap head/gasket, fit standard FRS manifolds/turbo and get someone to map the ECU and you'll be boosting off into the sunset?? No other mods needed??

...you can pick up an ST170 for peanuts these days, so it'd be a really easy way into a c300bhp hot hatch if it's as simple as that?!

yea, you got to take into account, clutch, fuel system, etc etc, but the basics are there for 300hp.

It would need standalone management and a few other bits. AFAIK the st170 management is not suited for forced induction.

What type of software would u need to run a turbo'd st ?

omex 710 can control constant vvt then you can turbo the engine you got.

Hi guys
The st 170 engine is in a 105e Anglia was running 45 webers but have been replaced with dellorto's from turbo lotus esprit , engine management is MBE also works vvc. Looking for about 220 / 230 bhp which looks easily done .
