Default Done by redlight camera. Help?

I have had a letter through off the fixed penalty unit for running a red light. I requested photos and it turns out im sitting behind traffic in the 'camera zone' and without me knowing (there is no traffic light straight ahead, only both sides) the lights have turned red and the zone has became active. Note there is NO yellow box. Anyhow the dates seem a long while apart and wonder if i can appeal it via that route.

Date on photos is 3/9/13
Date of notice of prosecution letter is 12/11/13

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Thanks. Ross

It's within the 6 month cut off so if there's sufficient evidence then you can't do a lot about it really

It just sounds like the traffic bunched up and you were on the tail end at the lights.
No box junction should see you in the clear.

I'd be tempted to challenge it there is supposed to be to pictures one of you crossing the line and another to prove you carried on through to avoid the I braked late but did stop defence. This is what I have heard not experienced so not gospel though. Personally I would take my chances but wouldn't tell you that's what you should do work out from your own situation is regarding points you have and if you want to take the gamble good luck

Pretty sure there is supposed to be a secondary signal head. I'm good friends with a few of our local signals engineer. Can you get a few pics up and I can query it with them on Monday for you.

Also if you were not cautioned at the time should the NIP not have been issued within 14 days of the offence date. Assuming it's not a company car, hire car etc
