Been driving this unsuspecting M3 beater around for the last few days...
...though you wouldn't expect it to look at it!
3-litre triple turbocharged diesel, 381bhp, 560lb ft of torque, 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds! Beat an E46 M3 away from the traffic lights four times in a row yesterday, the guy seemed more than surprised!
Nice car but too big for my liking. And too many badges on the back! And way too expensive!

Way too many. And the end ones read 'sod'.
The engine bay is just plastic covers, can't even see the turbos!

Does it come with that M badge on the back.I hate seeing bms with these badges on apart from proper M bms.
So if I put cossie wheels on my puma does that mean I can put cosworth badges on the boot lid and the grill.

Some of the replies here are genuinely astounding... some of you boys need to remove the ford blinkers and curb, what comes across as, jealousy.
I know someone who bought one of these, for his wife to run the kids to school and back, take dogs out and to use on family trips/holidays out of the UK. He considered other 4x4 options, but none were as impressive as this package.
Cheers,
Grant

The badges are all as it comes from the factory - this isn't modified, I don't think you can even buy one yet?!
And yes, it's a lot of money. I can see the appeal if I was a multi-millionaire, drove a Lambo and my wife asked me to buy her a car to run down to the shops in as the odd time I would use it would make the massive engine worth it!
BMW badging doesn't work like that anymore. The number no longer detemines the engine size on all models. I.e. The 330d uses the same sized engine as the 335d, but the latter has more power, hence the higher number

This sits in between the both, its too big and heavy to be a fun car although straight line acceleration is ok, Its absolutley useless as a 4x4 offroad vechicle in road spec.
Thats my opinion and no its not jealousy for me either its the fact its a pointless road version 4x4 that doesn't do anything particularly well.

The problem with this though is exactly the same problem as a Porache Cayenne , if you want a fast car or a car to pose in buy a fast car or a fake supercar ie R8, if you want a 4x4 buy a real 4x4 that can be used to actually get dirty,

Granted, they're not phenomenal at 'proper off roading' compared to other more focused 4x4 options... but with a set of winter tyres, they'll do the job of dealing with snow/ice/mud without any hassle.
Then there's the comfort, performance, space, reliability they offer... which they do very well. I can't think of many other options which do all those things so well.

my mate paid close to Ł60k for a new ml earlier in the year, as he couldn't quite stretch to the Ł94k the amg version was going for
the amg version is now Ł87k according to top gear

Some real stupid replies on here lol.
If I had the cash I would buy 1 for my missus straight away.
Who cares if it's no good off road (I bet it's a lot better than you think if you slap some good tyres on it!)
My customer has a range rover vogue diesel, he priced a new one this week, still a td with a few options and it came in at Ł108k lmao!

i think most of you need to go to specsavers, it's not a fooking 5.0 litre triple turbo, just a basic 2993cc with bullshit badges, if the guy has swapped the engine, dvla still thinks it's a 2993cc, so he's uninsured aswell as a bullshitter
