Is it machined in or sort of painted on?

Uprated cams have them machined in

But that number does not match up too any of the uprated cams on sale

Kent would have cvh??

Piper would have 285?? Ect and so on

Seems standard too me

It'll be a pattern part. I had piper verniers on my old saff and the fuckers slipped twice. Wrote off my engine

I didn't think there was enough adjustment on most verniers to allow piston and valve contact? IIRC A CVH cam belt can be three teeth out and still not contact.

yeah it was a standard cam, and it did slip there was only minor marks on the pistons, and bent one valve. i didnt put the piper vernier back on just went back to a standard one to save the hassel of it doing it again!

If you want to go for an adjustable cam pulley get it it hard anodized. I know this means it is grey colour but it stops the aluminium wearing and it slipping! Newman will get you one to order! They did for me! otherwise a steel one is the solution.

Also spend some time checking the cam itself as the build quality is very variable! I had some problems with the Kent cam I ordered to start with!
