Default Looking at cars for sale(Bought one 3/9/2013)

Since my cossie is still in the bodyshop I need a car soon cause shity winter is on its way.Im after a ford puma.Ive been to see 2 this friday gone and ive been to see 4 today.Ive done 300 and odd mile today driving round the country to look at cars.

I went to see a black ford puma on friday which was sopose to be in good condition and had rear arches replaced. They were full of bodge so that was a wasted journey.

Seen a nice blue/purple one this morning in blackburn. The advert said first to see will buy.It was scratched to fook and the back arches were rusty as fook.

Went to see a black on which said in the adver. No rusty wheel arches.Wrong both had scabs on them and looked like they had been wiped over with a brillow pad.

The last one I seen was a 02 reg silver Puma with 60.000 miles. The bloke who I phoned up said it was mint and rust free.Went to Keswick to see this one.It had dints all over it and a few bits of rust on the bottom of the arches. There was ascratch down the drivers door which wouldnt polish out.

so ive wasted most of today looking at so called mint cars and 4 hours wasted on friday cause of these cars.

Are people just thick or is it me.its so frustrating driving around looking at donkeys.

Rant over lol.

Sounds like you've been fucked about a bit! Cant stand this either, just be honest for god's sake. The trouble is a non car enthusiasts idea of "mint condition" is totally different to a car enthusiasts. Most people have no pride in their cars these days I reckon

I think that was the problem with the first car I went to see which had the rear arches repaired.i dont think he knew much about cars. When I told him it was full of bodge he didnt believe me.You could even see where the masking tape line was lol. From a distance it looked tidy tbh.

My neighbors puma is quite a tidy thing other than the fact the arches are dropping off it

Ive also looked on gum tree. The ones which were local had sold before I had set off to go and see them. I phoned about one today wich was about 25 mile away and he said someone was coming to look at it and if they didnt he was gonna phone me back but he didnt. Ive got a few more I wanna go and see.

One is in leeds which is a thunder model but the pics on gumtree are shit lol.

slmotors in blackburn, bit of a con place, i went to look at an m3, not too bad to be fair, interior was worn, front needed pant due to massive amount of stone chips.
"yeah, full service history" no documents could be found to support this claim.
half an hour on the phone to BMW about services done, could only find a few, not the last inspection 2 or running in service.
i didn't buy the car in the end, cowboys IMO.

lot's of robbing shit balls out there selling with creative photography in the hope you won't want to waste your time going back empty handed.

I know their a bit chav but a saxo vts is a brilliant car for that sort of cash, does everything the puma does but rusts a lot less.
Hard to ignore for the price, but it needs to be kept boggo as it just looks pants otherwise.

Really annoying when you decide on a car then view a load of crap. Had it with my Fiesta RS Turbo, viewed several dotted around the country and had my time wasted on a number of occasions before finally finding a decent example. And the same again when I decided on an Audi A4 1.8T Sport for my daily. It's mint mate, stunning car, only to arrive and find fag burns in the seats a baddly repaired mirror and and a front bumper held on with brass wood screws?

I spent 6 months going all over trying to find a nice 12 month old car without a ding, scratch or a scuff and its just impossible. I have given up and im keeping my mint 08 plate now because i've just lost interest. Sick of dealers talking sh!te and when you get there them saying we can paint this and that after stressing a 1000% you don't want a car with paint. All you get back from them is most cars have had paint at 12 months old and then they try and give you fook all for a 5 year car that is in better condition than their "nearly new car". I WILL KILL the next time wasting tw@t very slowly.

Glenn, my brother has a 51 Puma that has only done 10000 miles. Price is higher than your £1K budget though. he works abroad, so never uses it, but gets serviced every year.

Better off buying through one of the puma forums. Less likely to find complete fucking mongaloids passing a wreck off as "mint"

for the same money as puma you could get yourself a decent clio 172 or a 106 Gti, i know they arent fords, but they are bloody good. Pumas arent for me though, i think in standard form they are a bit dull to drive and they look girly.

You're on a back foot as a buyer, the seller doesn't want to tell you the faults, he wants you to get their and then he thinks you will just buy it and then some cheeky f*ckers try and hard ball you thinking you wont waste and journey and will just cough up.

I would as said consider looking at the Fiesta ZS but on your budget they will be a bit tatty.
