What did you get after
Cosworth ownership ? and was you happy with it and did you regret selling the good old cossie ?
I've had my 3 door 10 years and to be honest I don't go to any shows, use it mainly for work which is a 15 mile round trip and i'm thinking whats the point !!!

Mine has been in the body shop for 3 weeks now and it was my daily so I needed another car so bought a very nice std classic impreza and tbh now I am wondering why the hell I spent so much money on a sierra when cars like this are out there.
I am absolutely loving the subaru

I had a saff for 12 years as my daily and then got a 330d m sport as i was doing a lot of miles. the saff got next to no use for 2 years so i sold it and got a 5.7L v8 cobra rep for a toy nowhere near as much fun as a cos so sold that for my 500.I don't think you can beat a cos for a fun car but would't want to run one as a daily now.

It don't cost that much to run ,its not really about money if i'm honest .
I had a wrx sti last year and sold it as I got bored ,i've also got a 330d m sport which the gf uses .
14k would get mint some super German motor .

I got an r32 gtr after 5 cossies, I broke that for parts then bought another r32 gtr which I still have and I also bought an r33 gtr which overall is the best car ive ever had to date.
it all depends what your after from the car, if your looking for lots of power and 4x4 a cossie is no match for a gtr's drivetrain but gtr's are abit of a twat to work on whereas cossies aren't there much more acsecable.
I loved all my cossies I will never forget my first passenger ride was in a stage 3 saph and I was blown away by it I must of been about 20, its just once you want to get past 500 hp imo they are done as none of the drivetrain can cope, I know it can all be upgraded (£££££) but why bother when a better platform is available with a gtr or a supra if rwd.

Im looking more along the line of German , comfort ,power etc im 34 now with a 2 year old . Hate laying on garage floors and don't have the time to work on cars .
I'm not a fan of jap really if im honest, I think the interiors are crap . I know a sierra isn't much better but you get away with it as there nearly 30 years old .

Cossies are just old and there are more modern cars out there.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Transit, Audi A4(Still got), Mondeo ST220(Still got)
Loved the Cossie, but always aware of where you park it etc which became a bore. Would consider another later on maybe.
Nice well specced 5 series next i think, like the comfort now.

sold my escort cos 6 years ago and can honestly say i dont miss it , always hated parking it anywhere out of sight and worrying about the paint work when using it
the saff i had before that is a different story , much more fun without too many worries , so much so that i have been toying with the idea of another for the last 7 years !

I got an M3 and to be honest its perfect, its the car the 3dr was when I got 10 years ago. i.e I can just use it without worrying about the value of the car/getting parts. I'll probably get another 3dr and kick the m3 out onto the drive at some point but the sierra will be something nice to have in the garage while the M3 is something I can just jump in and kick the arse out of in any weather or not worry about someone hitting it etc. Cossies are a bit too precious for that I feel.

Id never get rid of mine as long as im into fast cars and will tune it to 650bhp I know its easier to do with a skyline or supra but there big old boats lol and can't see them beings as quick with the same power!
Only way I'd get rid of my saff is for a Porsche turbo

I bought an E90 BMW 330d after my Escos and had it remapped. Great car and did everything well and didn't really look back for a year or so.
My circumstances where slightly different as my Mrs went back to work using the daily so I needed an everyday car for the school run etc..
Will get another Cos when space allows. They are in the blood I guess
I wouldn't have one as a daily. Ever!

i only sold my 3 door as i could not use it daily anymore as ive moved to a terraced house so dont have driveway or garage anymore and the nearest i can park it would be in an unlit alleyway 100 yards away lol!
i feel if they cant be used daily there is no point having them but to each their own

Sold my first saph way back in 2001 after 2 years of ownership.
In its defence it was very reliable but attracted a lot of unwanted attention and even back then I remember it being hideous on fuel and oil (engine ok,just usual cossie oil consumption).
Parking issues also, worrying whether its there when you get back etc.
Sold it for bits back then as they were £3/4000 cars top and plenty too choose from so it seemed logical.
Put the money into my e36 328i cabby which was £12500 back in 2002 (cossie would have been a better investment) and we had 100k pretty much trouble free miles out of it,never failed to start, never saw/has seen a welding torch, felt solid, still looks good to this day and only due to poor maintenance did the engine overheat and fail,my own fault.
A replacement car was only £350 with a mint motor,a rebuilt cos lump would be what £3/4000 for something decent?
So the cos is an expensive motor to keep on the road but hey,it's an icon and I went back and bought another, gonna do it right this time too, make it as reliable as poss, look after it but overall just enjoy it.
If you've owned one,I think you'll always want one again.
As for the above post that he's owned one new since 1990,that's awesome, wish I could say the same!!!!

I've had mine for last 8yrs and don't think ill ever sell it! If anything I'd rebuild it into an escos shell. I had a thing for a mk1 focus Rs about 1 n 1/2 year ago and nearly sold the saff. I end up buying a focus Rs and kept the saff, now it sits in the garage and only comes out once or twice a week. If I don't use it for a couple of weeks ill lose the love for it but once I drive it all the love comes back

Do miss my cossie and would love another one but the M3 does everything the cossie did just with less fuss
