Default Need help! How do I know If I brought a xr3i or a 1600i

Hey I just brought what I hope is a xr3i cabriolet 1989 which is what it came up on the insurance. But when I received the v5 it says 1600i. So how can I tell if it is or not and what are the difference between them. I've heard the engine is the same its just the trim that different. I was also told if it has electric windows roof and side mirrors then it's a xr3i which mine does. Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance

I would personally say the v5 is right but check on the net for other xr3i's check the trim out even down to the interior and see that's what I would personally do

That's what she looks like. I have compared pics and I think it looks like one that's why I was confused.

the v5 does not always state exact model of car and its simply stated in your case its a 1.6 injection, expect a ins hike also as it has the turbo bodykit fitted and non original wheels

There wasn't another trim level to have
They do t often say xr3i on the logbook
Most say 1600i some rarely say xr3i cabriolet but most I've owner say escort se being either tennis cabbies or all blue cabbies or similar

The cabbie I'm
Breaking now is an xr3i and has all original xr fittings and stickers but is logged as escort 1.6i cabriolet
I expect is helps insurance to lose the xr badge back when it was new and they were stolen left right and centre

Oh that's great news I'm glad it is a xr3i and I'm only 21 and been driving just 5 months and it's always been a dream car which I'm still shocked I can get insured as much as I was paying for my fiesta. I was gonna keep it anyways as it looks incredible and drives amazingly Thanks peps much appreciated!

Thanks man and dw I will do got another question though. It's currently the xr3i but it has came with twin chock Webber carbs and fittings with a proformance air filter. Would it be a good idea to fit that or leave it? I know it will then make it an xr3 but I don't mind that.
