If you want it to bad they are very good on fuel, not that it happens very often.

I'm looking to change at the moment and I've been looking at the Leon K1 or a e90 330d totally different I know both take my fancy though.

It's quite a heavy car compared to the others in it's class, but it's a very underrated car and remove the 1st and 2nd gear limiter and have it mapped and they go very well, a friend was gutted when he turned up in his Focus ST which was also mapped and he didn't stand a chance

If you look at the spec and performance and what you are actually paying I don't think it can be beat by much really.

^ that's what im thinking, some nice exaples on ebay at the mo, if I had the money I would get the mk2 mps and me being me it wouldn't stay standard for long anyway.
what are the standard internals like for handling more power ? I heard they were forged even the crank ?

The 2.3 mps turbo engine is a duratec, Mazdas own engine as its where ford got the duratec from

Hence people upgrading the duratecs to 2.3
