Bought some lockble ones, ages back and never got round to fitting them.. but Ive gone off of those ones now. Looked feeble as well, not really upto much
Want some real discrete ones.. Was driving down the M1 today, and got all para about the bonnet for some reason
Which ones to people have??
Are they easy to fit, or is it best left to the pro's?
ta

was gonna say that but thought it was obvious lol.
yes you will need to measure from a fixed point, and make sure its the same on both sides etc
and use zinc primer to stop rust.
you will need to drill holes in the bonnet too lol.
if you dont want the other ones you got, ill have em if your giving them away lol

not to hard to fit,
I measured mine masked up where they went, drilled some fuck of holes in bonnet, rivit them in, threaded nuts in slam panel and bons your uncle took me about 1hr all in, cos i had never done it before and wanted to do it ok,
only thing on mine is the back rivits on both sticks up a bit but gonna redo that later

on the FRST i personally used the key lockable ones. flush etc.
never had a problem, until the day i forgot to lock them.
I would suggest to use these, be paranoid about them (this is good) and possibly install a 2ndary backup

Gadget off of here had them lying around so I had them. Pretty sure you can get them from Demon Tweeks and many other places. He fitted them too as I really didn't fancy being the one to drill holes in my bonnet
mine are the same as cliffS1's but in red, do you have a set? cos i have a spare set unopened here but they are also red so dunno if they is any good or not.
Pretty much out all weekend but working on the car wed PM and next sat i think, so pop round then if ya like, honestly mate not hard to fit. I think Steve SCC fitted keiths, hes a dab hand at em. My rivet guns shagged so i need another one, but when i get one your can pop over if you get stuck mate

Done 2 sets this week alone.
1 set on my mates Pug we build last week (put them on last Saturday) and some on my other mates Focus as he liked them on the Pug
Gra to stop the rivet in the back one from sticking up I put 3 tiny little nuts under the head of the rivet gun, this spaces it out of the channel and allows the rivet to be popped properly
Simple job, you soon get used to drilling holes in bonnets pretty quick
Ours we use are the stainless ones from Rally Design, the alloy ones wear out too quick
Ł5 a set without all the packaging

the ones pictured are the ones i have, hence never fitted
They look like they will break easily and what the foook is that chrome ring all about
Rally design ones I reckon

I believe the chrome ring is to stop it being pulled through the bonnet skin or to look 'phat'
I ordered some a couple of years ago on the understanding i was going to recieve 'locking bonnet pins' and got this shite.
Definately go for standard type pins if this is all thats holding your bonnet shut
