Default 4x4 front prop question.

I stripped the p100 down nearly a year ago and today i went to rebuild it and made some great progress.

Now, i noticed the prop had gone walkies, i cant find it anywhere!

Ive noticed some for sale are skinny, and some are quiet chunky.

The 2.8/xr4x4 ones etc are thinner.
The chunky ones are from a cosworth.

The car had the skinny one on it as i recall
My question:

Is there any real difference in the two? are they interchangeable?

The rest of the car is using cossy bits and when ive fitted the running gear in the past i hadnt noticed it was on the skinny prop.
Thanks, Matt.

I thought they were all the same, the only other difference I've seen is that some had grease nipples... Didn't realise they varied in thickness?

the genuine cosworth item is thicker and stronger,it also has removable circlipped joints so they can be replaced

as he said, they're interchangable
the larger diameter 1's are hollow and can twist, the skinnier 1 is solid

Oh so that would possibly imply that the skinny one is the better item?
Im only 220bhp so it really doesnt matter much but am keen to know.

i've seen a 4x4 type 9 box with a really thin front prop, not sure if they're interchangeable with the mt75 or not?

we'll agree to disagree then, i've twisted a couple of the bigger 1's
but never twisted the smaller 1,
but that may just be my luck?
but i would assume the cosworth 1 would be the stronger 1, so kinda goes against my experience
either way at 220bhp either prop will be upto the task and either prop will fit your p100 no prob

they will both fit, the later cars had the tube prop and the earlier ones had the solid version

as for the joints, the tube ones use larger joints but both are changeable

the ealier ones had grease nipples but it's not something you "need"

the main issues are the joints drying out due to the heat from the exhaust which tends to kill the bearing thing but it's easy enough to change

i've probably got about 10 of the things in bits around the garage

not, scratch that, i've probably throw 10 of the things away over the past few weeks
