soooo...... its a little bit backwards....I have a 1300 mk4 escort two door estate in white, Im looking at converting it to a 1600 xr2 engine from a mk1 fiesta which is about 90 horse power compared to my current 60... so this is the list for my plan.
XR2 1600 motor with a 5 speed box.
bike carbs.
4 branch manifold.
mid spec cam.
and possibly a big valved head and gas flowed.
the only things I don't know where to go with is drivshafts and what other bit and pieces I need to do the conversion... obviously I know ill be going from electronic ignition to the distributor... but id probs swap it over to electronic at some point....
I have chosen this option as it suits my insurance and also suits my work load...
any ideas and thanks in advance

well the point is to keep it old school.....an xr2 engine bolts straight except one mount.....I don't want any electronics at all.....but I do want bike carbs they sound brilliant as well as the other positives to having them

I thought the crank, timing chain area is different from the Xr to the RWD crossflow and possibly the block and oil pickup/ sump. Yes, the heads the same as is the pistons and rods. Good luck with the swop.
