It's a good ecu and easy to use being ms based

Extra efi could supply a ms ecu with warranty for over £100 cheaper specced to suit, but the v4 is built in a better case?

I don't believe Mtech are producing the v4 anymore, can only guess why.

Ecu is ok, at the end of the day it's a megasquirt ecu in a posh case with out of date firmware, I have used one and we run it on the latest MS firmware with half decent results.

Like most things you get what you pay for, for a budget ecu its acceptable but as mentioned you can just buy the ms equivalent for less

Make sure you buy the ms from extra efi, that way you get a warranty and it's built properly and will keep your engine safe

I really love the V4, have mapped quite a few and have currently got one on my turbo clio, its a really nice implementation of the megasquirt setup, its a professionally built unit and things like boost control are really sophisticated compared to litter like Omex 600 setup which is in a similar price bracket.

However like Jonboy says, I believe that Mtec are no longer selling them so its only an option if you find a 2nd hand one, and the trouble with that is what happens if you have problems with it down the line and cant buy a replacement?

Unlike Jonboy I like the version of firmware on it, its really stable IME.

Thanx all!

I think I'm going to stick with the omex 710
That's wot I originally wanted!

propely built is debatable as is customer service. Boostmonkey would be who I would use if I ever need another megasquirt ecu
