Default 5 grand options.....

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone can offer a bit of advice or different options.

After having a few issues with our v reg focus. It looks like it has finally gave up the go, so me and the misses have decided to get something a bit newer. The requirements are:

She wants it to be something a bit smaller than the focus (she is not the most confident drivers and thought the focus was a little too big).

We travel quite a lot from the north east, down to London for weekends away so needs to be relatively comfortable on the motorway.

I would have preferred a diesel with the long distances we drive, or if it was a petrol something no smaller than a 1.6 possibly with cruise control too.

With that in mind, I was toying with the idea of either a skoda Fabia vrs, or a fiesta diesel zetec s. after talking to my mate he has thrown a bit of a curveball in and suggested a mazda2sport as he has one and loves it, and has just got back from London in it.

With all of the above in mind does anyone have any other suggestions?

Cheers

My missus has a 207 Sportium, £20 tax, great mpg, sat nav, DVD. Driven it for a good few miles and it's very comfy and easy to drive. It is French though and doesn't feel like it's made all that well or of great quality materials.

looked at civics, and to be honest the dash looks cool, but i think its a bit intense and dunno if i could live with it haha.

207 is a possibility going to look at a few cars this weekend, think ill add that one to the list. Cheers

I like focus's myself. Its a good all rounder for everything. I may just go back to a normal focus when I sell my RS.

Seat Leon Cupra, either the diesel or 1.8 T, are nice looking cars. Ive got a 2001 Cupra and I cant fault it for the £800 I paid for it tbh.
