This has to be the first thread of this kind on here where the person who raced a supercar hasn't been shot down in flames and the usual "I know what I'd rather be driving" comments come out lol

Well.
Ive no mortgage or debts & retired. My 91k would go to my kids they would have better need of it. As for having an old Ford over an R8 now that is funny just think of what a properly modded R8 would do their are 1200bhp + cars around. Come on lads these old bangers are just a hobby. Wennys car is best of breed by a margin & I can understand his dedication to his targets, but go beyond this rather blinkered Forum its an old Ford .

Yeah you can't deny that the 1st gen of the r8 was the 4.2v8 only putting out a measily 414hp and pathetic 317lb torque whilst weighing in at at around 1570kg and 4wd.
Quick off the mark but seriously lacking top end!! and pretty boring really.
The rs6 has always had the better engine !!
The later r8s which use the v10 are ok 11.8 sec quarte mile at 120 mph is respectable, but I really think they are over-rated for what they cost. I have seen some turbo conversions but then factor in the price of the car and the mods ouch!!
Stick a well built yb in a robin hood and see how that much that costs you to build and to run, and how much performance it offers! If you're man enough to drive then I guarantee it will give you that buzz that no r8 without turbos could.
Yes its an old ford but it's that feeling when you're pulled up at a traffic light next to a supposed a supercar and you destroy them in an Old Ford.

at 1.34 the slightly tuned r8 driver is one handed whilst squirting the throttle and a little flick of the finger to change gear, should it not be about outrageous power that keeps you on your toes at all times, or am i just too much into my old skool cars and the fact that it requires drivers skill to drive them.
Would I have an R8 no they arent what I class as fast, and they aren't good looking either.
I'd rather spend the money developing castings for a 4.0 v8 pinto block !!

I wanna pay my morgage off so me and the wife can move house.Were i live is starting to get full of rough people.Theres a 4 wheels pikey caravan round the bloody corner.Then there is flat face who has 5 kids and has people coming and going everyday.Then there is the pikey wanna be with 3 kids and he is into everything. Selling drugs scrap roofing.

I used to love the Royal Nail cause it looked shite lol bit was bloody quick.Most people thought it was just a rough old royal Mail ford escort van but it upset a hell of a lot of fast cars. The Nail did a 0to 60 run in 3.4 secs once

wennys car wins the cool stakes handsdown, just for the sheer outrageousness of it. an r8 maybe cooler to the average jo but from an engineering perspective its mediocre. kind of reminds me of a tt or something equally as civilised. supercars shouldn't be civilised imo. I appreciate your wisdom rod and maybe its just that im young and daft but I can honestly say id get a bigger kick out of your 200mph saff or wennys crazy sleeper opposed to an r8. but yea, I agree our old fords are in another league in terms of status
