I think so, the email i recieved from my Shell V point card didn't say anything about octane, so i asume it is the same.
A lot of talk about anti friction ingredients to enhance power output.

The shell near me was handing out flyers
It's still 99RON but has 25% more friction modifiers.

Nitro + racing sounds good.

V-Power Nitro is replacing V-Power. I went to fill up with it yesterday. Exactly the same price as the old V-Power, meant to have some more bells and whistles in it. Still 99RON I believe. Only thing is I didn't fill up with it as I pulled up to one pump, no delivery, fucked about with it a bit and still wouldn't deliver. Moved to another pump, same shit. Went inside and asked WTF is going on and the dude had a look at his delivery reports and said they have plenty so I was told just be patient and it will start. So I thought fuck that, the old V-Power never used to do that and I am not risking it sucking up a load of shit and putting duff fuel in my car so put Ł5 ordinary unleaded and filled it with Momentum 99 instead so they can sort their shit out.

hi, im a taxi driver and have been using vpower diesel for quite a while in my focus estate 1.8 TDCI... i have to say that ive noticed a very slight improvement in mpg (5-10%) but this is cancelled out by the difference in price, so im basically breaking even on cost. The real benefit for me is the fact that the engine is a lot smoother and cleaner than before. it runs like a dream and that noisy diesel engine noise has almost disappeared. it honestly runs like a new car and its done 270, 000 miles! so im about even on cost and it seems to be much , much bettter for the engine. its a no brainer for me....v-power is the only fuel i will use and believe me, during the last 200, 000 miles in this car ive tried them all. this new nitro stuff seems to be very slightly better still, so in summary my advice to any diesel drivers out there would be that you wont really save money (possibly a minimal saving), but the difference in engine health is night and day.

Was looking at what Shell had to say about the nitro stuff on their website, they just went on about how awesome nitro is for your engine and how it cleans out all the nasty deposits other fuels can leave. No mention of increased performance, increased mpg etc although a cleaner engine with less deposits in theory should increase these....
