Hi all can anyone shed any light on a fault I've got with the indicator on my mk3 xr3 if I indicate left of right it flashes as if a bulb has gone but they are all fine and light up we'll checked all the earth tags they seem clean also cleaned rear light cluster connections and they are in good shape also when I put the hazards on they flash at the correct speed it seems to be only when I use left or right any help would be great thanks

relay would be my thaught, give it a whack

or hazard light switch itself if wiring for indicators runs through it, cant remember

Have you fitted LED bulbs into any of the indicators?
If so you will need to fit a resistor as they draw less current than standard filament bulbs so the relay is tricked into thinking a bulb has blown.

Sounds like you have a relay for car with indicators in the wings, I had same problem with my xr3 until I bought the correct relay
