Default Halfords Trade card bulb discount?

Want to fit some Osram Diadem indicator bulbs to the missus 207 and seen Halfords do their own but at £8 a bulb. Anybody know whatdiscount a trade card gives on bulbs? Wondering if I'd do better getting them off Flea Bay.

Can't remember what the discount is like on headlight bulbs but for a pack of 2 tail light bulbs on the shelf for £2.50 on trade you pay less than 50p!

A Halfords Trade card is definatley worth having bought a pack of Wiper Blades for £19.99 and it came to £7.39 after the discount!

I've saved a small fortune with my trade card, most of my tool kit has come from there, tools generally work out about half price for the professional stuff. I've even bought a load of kit for mates from there, so it's a nice little beer earner too!

Just take the bulbs to the parts desk with your trade card and they will tell you how much they will be.

You need a certificate with some engineering qualifications and a recent pay slip to show you are currently in employment then they will give you one!

I got one a little while back, but never used it. Then I needed an interior bulb, popped to Halfords, it was £1.99 for a single interior bulb. Remembered I had a trade card, turned out to be 49p

The level of discount varies from item to item, and also brand. Halfords own brand silicone spray is more discounted than branded silicone spray, and their wipers are more discounted than Bosch or Valeo wipers.

Find the most dodgy looking youth in there and offer him some money for one, they always have some kicking around in drawers or left behind.
I would seriously pay around £40 for mine if I lost it for what it saves me on bits.

Ask in store.

I didnt get asked for proof of qualifications. Went in in oil covered overalls and gave my pay statement from a garage i worked at (not as a mechanic) and thats all they wanted. The pay slip was like 6 months old as i had left there a few months previous

I took in a business card, that was enough. It's really easy to make up a business card if you have a computer and a printer.

Halfords are easier than a motor factors, you can go in and browse, go in and pick and buy what you want, not what someone thinks you want, they are open til 8 pm and all weekend too!

I always use Factors as they are the cheapest by far and I know what I'm getting. Unfortunately the bulbs I want are a cosmetic tweek and as such the factors just don't stock them.

Why use halfords?

1) They're open saturday afternoon/sunday/early evenings, the kinda time when you've broken that exhaust clamp you thought you could reuse and can't find another in the shed.

2) in my experience with the trade card it's cheaper than my "trade" discount at factors.

3) parts are usually a half decent quality, not like some factors stuff that is blatently cheap rubbish

4) you can go in browse, look at everything and select the part YOU want, not the part the bloke at the factors says you want, only to find upon fitting it's wrong and now they're closed so you go halfords anyway!

5) My halfords (and most i have come across locally) have a car park. Not like my local factors which are in the centre of town!

I bought a H7? (1013711) bulb in halfords today with retial of £9.99, came to £3.77 on trade card.

Use your local motor factors as they should be much cheaper than halfrauds.

Most local motor factors round my way are overpriced for most things, or get them later the same day from the biggest motor factor in the area. However, I have an account at the biggest motor factors and a lot of the time, they up the retail price to the trade customer before offering a discount, so it is only a little less than the public retail price. I have caught them out a few times on this.

Yet, on a Halfords Trade card, the discounts are worth it all day long. Yes, the retail is high, but the trade price is more what they are really worth. But, it is only really on things that the mobile mechanic would buy, not everything.

I think if my memory is correct you get 80% discount on all halfords bulbs, easiest way is to go in and ask. If anyone is around the salisbury area I have no problems meeting you there and helping you out.

I don't think the trade card gives much/anything off cosmetic bulbs - I bought some silver indicator bulbs and remember being disappointed at the lack/level of discount. Normal bulbs got a good chunk off, though.

The card is handy for other bits, though. I don't understand the hate for Halfords - we don't have to go there and if we don't like their prices we can buy elsewhere.

The traders card is the best thing someone can get to be honest. I have bought so much stuff for my focus from there with the trade card and saved a fortune. HAd to get a new battery for example should've been £65 and I managed to get it for just under £40. Bulbs I get for pennies. Just depends on what you're getting at the time
