are these any good on a escort turbo


thought they was only suited for n/a cars to alllow to rev higher

 

ye, ive a set in my s2, id recommend them, ive newman cam wi solids

 

do they not need adjusting alot?

 

prob had them done twice in the last 18 month

 

is it much grief to do


what cam did you get? lift? duration and what not

think he is making mine up to his own spec to suit me engine

 

the s2 i have used to belong to one of my mates,and ava done all the work for him as they fitted and set it all up, its a newman cam thats init,

 

newman will only spec a cam to the profile ya give em !!!!, ava are the ones ya wanna buy the cam off as they give newman the spec they want, there good cams too, its about the right combination!!!

how high do ya want ya car to rev to and have ya got steel rods as if not ya car aint gonna need em, on and the adjustment of the solid cams aint like the hassle bollox ya get with the old ford engines, there ment to have spacers or somink that makes em foking easy to adjust , buy a 1.8 sierra rocker cover gasket and ya will be able to remove and re-use that gasket

 

Depends which ones you have to be honest.

NMS can do a Solid Lifter spec cam too

 

thought thay were only any good if your reving above 6/7 rpm

i`m using a newman cam wouldnt use any others they last a lot longer then piper of kent i gave him a spec and he ground one for me my profile is a bit more radical then the cvh37 i have fitted three of there cams now i can help you fit it if you are not that confident with adjusting the lifters they do a off the shelf cam for the 1.6 turbo

 

i wont be getting my hands dirty with this
