FAO any of the mappers..fuel pump question

Default FAO any of the mappers..fuel pump question

if i fit a group'A' fuel pump to a 2wd saff instead of the std one......will it need to have the fuelling checked?????will it be miles out????

A pump shouldnt have any effect on the fuelling unless the old pump couldnt cope The regulators job is to regulate the pressure no matter what supplys the fuel so the mixture should be the same but id be inclined to check it anyway due to the current demands.

Stu, on that other post you showed that a group a pump has a lot higher pressure at the same boost level than a std pump and i was worried that the higher pressure will see the injectors!!!!!!and make me over fuel...............oh well to be safe i will have it checked

Yup, uprating the pump shouldnt have any effect, as inj only see the pressure the regulator gives them, and thats set regardless of how well the pump pumps.

Unless the regular was the smallest flowing (most restrictive) part of the fuel system maybe (and the pump was pumping more than it could cope with), but its not on a cossie.
