Would running a larger caliper on the same size disc make much of a difference?
Was thinking of swapping to a caliper with twic the pad area but don't want to waste money if i won't get much benefit.

larger calipers won't fit unless you get longer ones which will give more pressure on more of the disc

much easier way is to use the same caliper but insert a larger disc so you get more leverage and stop better
