Because I want the scope in there to go bigger power in the future mate..

Just build two engines and you can swap them depending on your mood

But if he builds a good bottom end with good pistons with pockets. If he wants cams etc its just a case of fit cams and big turbo and wahey big power

Unless you want 550+ then standards will do.

Matt Lewis sells wiseco's that have pockets in which is what I'll be using. And are standard comp. fit rods by all means but that's an extra Ł500 or so maybe.

My stage 3 spec will be long studded with wiseco's

Or the are CP pistons too.

Mat,well said,it's nice to see somebody who is happy with the way the car performs,I think as I have said many times in the past your spec must be awesome and lag free, perfect road car set up in my opinion.
A lot of owners spend big bucks,go big power and few have said it spoils the drivability of the car and takes the fun factor away, not to many have admitted this though, well not openly anyway.
I know you love the way your car performs, stick with the spec Mat.

Thanks.Lee.

There longer so gives you a better rod angle so you can have a higher rev limit

Mat, thing is as well you're busting the balls of the T34 so why not go GT3071 at less boost and make same power ( and more when needed )and good spool too

As James states above Sheedys twin scroll manifolds and bw turbos etc are low lag,the stuff Sheedy is doing now is light years in front of anyone else that I know of on the cossie tuning scene.Ask Dave Pritchard or Mark Hudd both have these sort of set ups now and no lag factor,I think this is the only exception to what i mentioned in my post above, with Sheedy though you would have to go with an aftermarket ecu such as Vipec or Autronics really as he doesn't map Weber ecus.A new Vipec is 3k supplied and fitted for a cossie but you can get a second hand autronics for around 1k.It's a lot of money to do the aftermarket ecu, twins scroll set up etc especially if you want to remain with the sort of power you have now.

Thanks.Lee.

Matt if you're building a bombproof bottom end to drive hard it's prob worth considering oil spray jets to help with cooling the pistons whilst you're at it old chap.

Best thing to do is speak to someone regarding the best motor spec for that turbo unit if thats what will stay on, using a long studded 200 block, pocketed 4x4 pistons, WRC H/G and a spec'd head and a nice cam mix is going to be more than enough

Everyone on pf trying to convince Matt otherwise. IMO he's doing right thing. It's exactly what I'm doing with mine, bombproof (hopefully) stage 3+. It's the best they can be. Maybe lighten flywheel a little and make it a bit more revvy but loose torque. That's where I'm at at the moment. Don't want to compromise too much torque.
